Our ovens are often in use on a daily basis. We depend on our appliances to operate efficiently and to be in good working order. When something goes wrong, it can be very frustrating. If you have a Frigidaire oven that is giving you trouble, you may need an explanation of what the Frigidaire oven error codes mean.
This manufacturer has assigned these Frigidaire error codes as an efficient way to begin the troubleshooting process when parts of the oven malfunction in some way. We have compiled a list of the most common Frigidaire error codes to help you find a solution to the problem you are experiencing.
Frigidaire Error Codes
Error Code: F0, F1, F5, F6
- Code Description: Electronic oven control failure
- Solution: These codes indicate a malfunction in the electronic oven control. The electronic oven control (EOC) may also be referred to as circuit board, control board, mother board, ERC, or clock. Unplug the appliance for about 10 minutes to see if the error code will reset itself. When you reconnect the power, if the error code is still displayed, you can test the temperature sensor with an Ohm meter to determine if it has the proper level of resistance. If the oven control is failing or defective, replace it.
Error Code: F2
- Code Description: Oven Temperature too hot
- Solution: The oven temperature sensor may be failing or defective. Check the oven temperature sensor (RTD) with an Ohm meter. Make sure the oven temperature sensor is working properly at all settings. The oven temperature sensor cannot be repaired. If it is defective, replace the oven temperature sensor.
Error Code: F3
- Code Description: Open oven temperature sensor
- Solution: The oven temperature sensor may be failing or defective. First, check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control to see if there is an issue with loose wires or visible damage to the wiring, such as a burnt wire. If the wiring is not visibly damaged and looks OK, replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).
Error Code: F4
- Code Description: Shorted oven temperature sensor
- Solution: The oven temperature sensor may be failing or defective. First, check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control to see if there is an issue with loose wires or visible damage to the wiring, such as a burnt wire. If the wiring is not visibly damaged and looks OK, replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).
Error Code: F7, F8, F9
- Code Description: Oven door lock failure
- Solution: These codes indicate there is a problem with the locking mechanisms. First, inspect the lock latch arm, door switches, and lock assembly, including latch arm pivot joint, rod, lever arm, and spring. Make sure there is no obstruction preventing operation. If any parts are not working properly or are defective or damaged in any way, replace the lock assembly.
