Lake Calhoun
If you want the full Minneapolis experience this fourth of July, bring your family down to Lake Calhoun. Play on the multiple beaches, grill out with your family and even bring out the kayaks for an astounding view of the fireworks over the water.
You can even bring your furry friends! Dogs are allowed everywhere at Lake Calhoun except for the beaches. Make sure that your dog is nearby and on a leash if you plan to bring them to the fireworks show to ensure they don’t get frightened and run away.

4th of July in the City
4th of July in the City takes place at various parks in Minneapolis. Festivities start at 11 am with family-friendly activities. There will be live entertainment and music until 6 pm.
Most events are free to the public, so bring the whole family down for a full day of fun. This event attracts over 75,000 visitors to the Minneapolis downtown area each year and features incredible food, amazing live music, and exciting activities for all ages.
Gold Medal Park
If you want a laid-back place to watch 4th of July Fireworks in Minneapolis, bring the family down to Gold Medal Park. Play catch or cornhole lay out a blanket, enjoy a picnic dinner, and lay back to watch the fireworks over the park. Don’t forget to bring your bug spray!
Gold Medal Park is one of the lesser-known fireworks spots in Minneapolis but offers a classic family experience.
Mill City Museum – CANCELED
If you’re looking for a VIP fireworks experience, purchase tickets for the Mill City Museums’ observation deck. This exclusive viewing spot is only open to 50 people each year, so buy tickets as soon as possible. With the price of tickets, you’ll also get admission to the museum, so make sure you show up early to look around the amazing Mill City Museum. We assure you the view is worth the price of admission.
City Rooftops
This seems simple, but it’s one of the best ways to view multiple fireworks shows at once. Find a building with rooftop access that is within sight of several of Minneapolis’s scheduled fireworks shows and post up around 9 pm to watch all of them at once!
Restaurants with rooftop bars are an excellent choice for this. What could be better than getting food and drinks while watching several fireworks shows at once?
