How To Clean A Glass Cooktop

A glass cooktop certainly gives your kitchen a sleek and modern look, but keeping it clean can be a real struggle. Spilled sauce or sugar can become a stubborn mess if not cleaned right way, and all-purpose cleaners just don’t do the job to effectively remove stuck on food.

If you’re tired of a dirty cooktop, keep reading. We have the solution to clean it with all-natural ingredients that leave no scratches. Here’s how to clean a glass cooktop:

What you’ll need:

Instructions:

  1. While the burners are cool, spray the surface of the cooktop with the white vinegar and wipe it down with a towel. This helps to degrease and remove some of the debris.
  2. Cover the entire glass cooktop with baking soda. The baking soda’s mild abrasiveness will help gently remove stuck on stains. It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t combine these first two steps, as mixing white vinegar and baking soda will create a bubbly chemical reaction!
  3. Soak towel(s) in hot water. You’ll need to have enough rags to cover the whole cooktop.
  4. Place the towel(s) on the cooktop and let them sit for at least 15 minutes. This will help loosen remaining debris.
  5. Now you’ll need to apply some old-fashioned elbow grease. Scrub away at the stains with the towel. Rinse towel as necessary and scrub some more, repeating the process until there’s no baking soda left on the cooktop.
  6. If you notice stubborn gunk that hasn’t come off, wet the magic eraser sponge and scrub the remaining debris.
  7. After all of the stains have been removed, take the microfiber cloth and buff the cooktop to leave it with a shine.

How To Clean A Glass Cooktop- Additional Tips

  • Never clean your cooktop while it’s still hot. It’s not worth the risk of burning yourself.
  • Help yourself remember to wipe up any spills by setting a timer for when you think the cooktop will be cooled off. Staying on top of this will help prevent stubborn gunk in the future.
